I Love chalk paint!! BUT it's so expensive!! soooo after looking for a good "recipe" from
Larissa Hill Design and like her plaster of paris to be the right match!
So I found a bench at a garage sale for $20 (good bones and clean) so here we go!
I went with the cream on the bottom and green on top. (I love "mistakes" at the hardware store, and have a good selection to pick from) Cover it well! If you want to distress it now's the time..... and remember you'll be antiquing it so it will pick up the color in that area.
I chose to use Annie Sloans dark wax. I love it! but I understand there are others out there. The trick about the wax is putting on in small areas. Rub on, wipe off..... I did the whole leg with a lg round brush, brushing side to side to fill in the nooks and crannies, and wiped off with up and down motion. If you apply wax over wax where it has already been sitting it will remove the wax you just pit on. That can be a help if you have areas that grabbed to much, but frustrating if you have a "spot" that won't take color. If this does happen, let it sit for a bit then use one of the cloths you used to apply with dabbing it on, and let it sit before wiping off.
It took me about 90 Minutes and it looks great, even if I do say so myself!
